    Help External HDD Suggestions

I'm planning to buy another External Hard Disk Drive to back-up all my data and movie collections. And I went to a nearby mall hours ago. I saw some brands that I rarely knew and there's one by Western Digital.

I found out that the price for WD External HDD 1Tb is just over US$120.
Do you think it's just ok?

    Any suggestions?

Ye certainly its fine and mind me the products are great too. I had a WD hard disk for my old PC and it never gave me any problem. I think the HDD has 3 yrs warranty and the company directly replaces the HDD if any problem comes. So nothing to worry about.

    Thanks for the heads up.
The 80Gb WD Passport I got years back is still working besides the USB connector that comes with it.
Luckily, I can use the USB from my Maxtor External HDD. By the way, thsi HDD of mine only got a year of warranty.
But still no problems on both HDDs.

There? How much are 1Tb External HDD?

May be around $100 to $150. You can check out some offers on ebay if there are.

    Try checking here

    Thanks for the info.
But I recently saw one from the local store Octagon and it just cost a little over $100.
It is just a few dollars higher than the 500Gb External HDD.

Oh is it! Better go for it then. Actually speaking there is a wast difference in the computer peripherals from store to store. Best thing is to find a whole seller and buy it from him for the cheapest.

Thanks for the tip. Some other stores I came through ave these different brand I never heard of.
But imagine, they are selling those much more expensive than the Western Digital one.
    Plus, it's only 350Gb.

May be that depends on the brand. Something like Harddisk of Toshiba, Seagate or Samsung are slightly higher priced just because of the name tag of the company they carry.

BTW I think Seagate is the best in Hard disks in terms of performance, shelf life and service too. If I am not mistaken they carry a warranty of 3 years.
