Default Intel or AMD?

Which do you guys think is better in terms of performance and gaming? I heard AMD used to kick Intel's ass, but when Intel release the Quat Core? then it is the other way around. Anyone can confirm this?

I believe Intel is the best. I tried both at my work. Intel's performance is the best comparing with AMD. but not sure about Quat Core.

Quad Core fills up the gaps which Intel didn't have in the past. Quad Core is now about as good as AMD for Gaming, and I recently bought a Desktop, with Intel Quad Core, really fine.

On my Windows XP,Intel works fine. In Asia, they really like Intel! Don't know about Intel? Here it is!: Learn About Processors for Notebooks, Desktops, and Internet Devices

I am not a gaming freak so for me processor which speed up my work with Xls, Dox and other software will be good one. But I think AMD is cheaper than Intel but however in India Intel market's share is much better than AMD.

Not sure about the situation more recently but I know that AMD was much better for gaming considering a 2.5ghz AMD was the equivalent if not superior of a 2.7ghz Intel.
