There's no fun in watching a PC boot up. As for it harming your PC I haven't had a proper look at what it does since my PC boots fast enough for me already.

It's safe man. I tried it. But, I wouldn't really know if it would harm your computer if you use this method continuously. So I only do it once in a while....
