Yes. That was what I was saying. There is a similar function in Invision Power Board, another Forum Software, where you can choose for your Display Name to be different from your Login Username. To prevent people from changing it anytime they wanted, it was only available for Users at the point of registration. Afterwhich, only Administrators could change User's Display Names.

The System that was implemented into GamerzPlanet previously was for Username changes, not Display Names. I don't think there's a Display Name Modification for vBulletin at the moment, but if there is one, be sure to give me a buzz.

So how do you suggest the new members coming in, are gonna know wich positions are right if half the board has a different tag position.
This is so unlogical, on GzP we can't even have the same color of staffs name, and here your gonna allow full name changes every single time you want it.
This will turn into chaos.

Different Tag Positions? No. It isn't full name changes. It is a one-time off thing, if it's even implemented. Meaning, when the user signs up, he would get chance to decide on his Display Name. Afterwhich, that would always be his 'Name' on the board for the rest of his Forum-Life, unless he applys for his Name to be changed, and an Admin approves of it.

Also, GamerzPlanet and ForumzPlanet are two different Forums. We do not merge them together to compare, because we've got different plans for each Forum.

Yes different tag positions, you have yours under your name, i could put the tag in my avatar and say i am an admin, hows a new member gonna know ?

Aside from that i am not intentionally trying to compare this forum to GzP, but i am pretty sure the matters over impersonating staff, have the same rules here as on GzP.
Futhermore i wasn't talking about your suggestion but, Planet's as it doesn't seem his idea was to have the Admins only being able to do the name changes, i think the suggestion instates that he wants to change his name whenever he wants wich sounds like a bad idea.

When we do find out that you're trying to impersonate us by putting our Tags into your Avatar position, we'd give you a first warning, afterwhich an instant ban, without the possibility of it being lifted. Of which, if you re-create another Account, you would get an IP Ban.

If he wants it that way, he wouldn't get it. Thanks for bringing that up anyway.

Having the option to change your display name at registration seems fairly pointless. I'd say something like what GzP had where you would request a nick change and an Admin would decide whether or not it's appropriate would work far better.

I never said I was going to use it, I already have my nick. I was saying that choosing a display name while registering is pointless because that's what you do now with the username.
