Default what's with Obama?

I observe that this man named Barack Obama is so popular in the US right now. What makes him so popular? All past presidents have been popular at the start (otherwise, they would not have won), but went pfffft later on. What makes Americans think Mr. Obama is different? I'm not an American or a US resident, that's why I'm curious.

Barrack Obama is a black man asking for change, and that really speaks to the americans. I'm not american myself and glad of it.

Doesn't all politicians speak about change, in fact, promise to make changes? Is there anything new to that? Personally, I believe that's quite a worn-out technique for a politician. All politicians talk about and promise to make changes. If Obama speaks that way, and his predecessors have spoken the same way, then what's the big difference?

I was making a joke, most politicians talk about change but none do anything. They're figureheads in any case, it's all about how charismatic each one is. Long gone are the days when leaders led because they were the superior.

So, which in that is the joke part?

That you're glad - inspite of the fact that you are not an American yourself - a black man named Barack Obama is asking for change?

So, what's your answer to the original question: what is in Obama that's making people flock to him?

I'm not glad for anything American. People like Obama because there's no better candidate, the other candidate is a douche.

They like him because he says what they want to hear. When they're pleased, they'd vote for him.

Well that's politics right there.

Lol! And the US brags about being the leading democracy in the world. They can't even have enough choices for the presidency.

I wonder why Obama's opponent didn't do just that - telling them what they want to hear.
