your mother or your wife?

I think of the good points and the bad points but it's safest to think of the bad points when you think of the future. When thinking of the past however I tend to act optimistic and point out the good points in order to keep morale high.

I'm pretty much good at staying afloat, so I wouldn't think about taking the life jacket for myself. I'm not old enough to have a wife right now, but I would give it to my wife. Yes my mother brought me into this world, but she lived long enough. My wife would have a long time ahead to live so I would give it to my wife.,

The idea was that you can swim with out a life jacket in this situation, whether or not you could actually do it in real life.

Lol, mar1993, the story presumes that you had a wife. You have to make a choice of who to give the lifejacket to based on that presumption.

Mothers are good most of the times and wives can be bad many times.

However, if you have a good wife, there is no point of comparing her with your mother..
