Default Is global warming for real?

We have been hearing all those “news reports” claiming for a few years now that global warming is happening and it would cause the temperatures to go up, but on the other hand I have been seeing the temperatures go down. Is it really global warming or is the climate actually getting colder?

Edit: 100th post of the forum

GW is absolutely real and is a catastrophe which is moving closer day by day, unfortunately the stubborn Republican Party is causing the message to be lost across the USA.

Just to highlight the affect this is having across the globe, In Britain, April was the warmest ever April since records from the 1600's and an entire 1c more than the previous record!!!!! Astonishing!

Does 1c really make that much of a difference? Don’t get me wrong, but I have been seeing scientist shouting on top of their voice like every thing is going to hit rock bottom in next couple of years, yet I haven’t seen any thing substantial. Yes in the long run (100+ years) we might see some thing substantial, but I don’t think it will happen in our lifetime.

Unfortunately it just may well affect you and i at this rate. In 25 years the Greenland icecap will have melted at the rate we are going.. There will be huge increases in storms and Hurricanes..

Yes, the ice caps are a particularly important factor issue since they mark a threshhold crossed from which we cannot return. Once they start breaking up, there really is little that can be done to reverse the trend at that point.

I think it is real definitely, as you can see all the different disasters around the world.. some places are getting hotter. But I found it funny that US seems doesn't believe that Global warming is real..

I think it's already happening. Weird things has been happening lately because of global warming. They say that around 50 years from now, this world is going to end because of it.

All the crazy things happening today with weather are related to global warming. No, the world won't end in the next 50 years, but it will be really difficult to live here if we keep destroying the planet.

Immediate action is required if we are to avoid unmanageable changes and intolerable impacts from climate change. And reason behind all this is the global warming . i think the world will have to act on climate changes

It is nice to see a general believe in GW, the first step is realisation and the next is cure ; )
