Okay, so this comes up a lot on forums, but it would be nice to see what everyone thinks.
I am going to put in this poll 4 of the most popular browsers. Tell me why YOU like the browser that you use.

I use Google chrome as it has a really nice GUI and has some nice little features such as a spell checker.
I have been a firefox user for as long as I can remember and never thought Google chrome would be any good, but I tried it last night and I love it!
The only thing I don't like about it really is the fact that the extensions system is quite annoying, you have to launch it with a command line argument just to enable extensions!

Opera on windows, safari on mac. Chose opera.

Ah, I forgot about safari.
Oh well, I suppose it will need to stay in the 'Other' category for now.

That's what I though at first.
I had downloaded it whilst downloading google earth, but I used it once then fell in love with it and now I use it as my primary browser :D

I am using Google Chrome as well because it is a lot faster than IE and I like the look of the browser.

I kind of like Firefox too because it has quite a lot of useful plugins that chrome doesn't have.

Yeah, that's the only thing that I don't like about chrome atm.
It's a pain in the neck to get extensions working.

Not really. Mozilla Firefox has taken over the internet. But Google Chrome will now reign supreme.

Firefox wins for computers, but anything else, cellphone, game consoles, even computer, it is used.

Get avast, not avg, and it could be just your browser. Also download ccleaner and run it. But i'm sure opera could help =D.

Got almost all the browsers like Opera, Mozilla, Chrome, IE, Safari, but till date what I prefer using is just Mozilla and Chrome.

Mozilla is superb in terms of Adons plugins and other stuff but uses a lot of memory resource of your PC. On the other hand Chrome uses minimal resource and has excellent speed.

Ye even with a little drawback I prefer to use Firefox just for the reason of security and browsing safety. With Chrome I feel a bit scared thinking that they might keep a track of my surfing activities. Do they??

You wrote your own rendering engine?
.net applications that use the web browser control don't count, it's just an IE frame.

I have only used three web browsers: Internet Explorer, Firefox and Safari.
But I the best that I have used is Firefox.
It's easy to use and have lots of add-ons. Plus, it doesn't eat up lost of my RAM.

punits
02-15-2010, 09:24 AM
@gekidan FF does eat a lot of memory. And I think it the only brouser which uses maximum memory resource.

Try check it sometimes. What you can do is open all three browser and start loading a page in all and then check the system processes. FF consumes the maximum.

Ive also blogged about it here at Firefox 3 and memory consumption! | PunitShet.com (http://www.punitshet.com/firefox-3-and-memory-consumption/)

You are definitely right punits. I kinda noticed it now.
But I think it's not as bad as Safari goes...
I switched to Firefox because Safari always tend to lag...

That's the main thing I used Firefox. You can easily customize it the way you like.
Plus, lots of sites are optimized to be used on Firefox, not Internet Explorer.

IE no ways has any space on my comp :D

I don't have any other browser here besides those two.
