McAfee is actually the Best solution you can get. Norton is a little over-sensitive when it comes to scanning. Norton being over-sensitive has it's positives, as well as negatives, positives, being good at sniffing out Viruses which are hiding inside your computer, negatives being it telling you about files, which seem corrupted, but are actually System Files.

Deletion of certain System Files would result in your Computer shutting down.

I don't know about your countries, but for me, in my Country, there's a newspaper specially made to talk about Digital and IT stuff, given out every Tuesday, and there's a column, which replies to people's help calls, into their Hotline, during the past week. I noticed in every situation dealing with Viruses in the user's Computer, they would refer to McAfee's Virus Definitions and things like that. Meaning, McAfee's reliable.

I myself used McAfee before, it gave me no problems whatsoever, and cleared viruses for me.

Used Norton as well, worked well, untill it expired, wouldn't get off my back, telling me to renew my subscription.
